MONASTRELL GROWS CLOSE TO THE Mediterranean Sea IN THE SOUTH EAST OF SPAIN. Monastrell needs long, hot and dry summers to achieve optimum ripening. The vines are planted in poor, sandy soil with pebbles on the surface and different proportions of limestone.
