IN A REMOTE PLACE THAT TWO DECADES AGO HAD LOST ITS HOPE IN THE FUTURE… Castillejo de Robledo (Soria) is a remote area of Ribera del Duero with three very distinctive characteristics:
– A high altitude, around 980 m above sea level, ensuring a cool climate even on summer nights.
– Limestone soils, very poor, with many pebbles on the surface, and with outcrops of the mother rock.
– A rolling landscape of hills and valleys that provides endless exhibitions and different orientations to the vineyards.
These peculiarities create a dry climate, with cold winters and hot summers but with great thermal difference between day and night.
